Hyundai KIA G4GC 2.0L Engine

From 2000 until 2011, the Ulsan assembly factory produced the 2.0-litre Hyundai KIA G4GC 2.0L Engine, which was used in the Sonata, Tucson, Kia Seed, Cerato, and Soul.

This model is an improved version of the Beta II series; it is compatible with L4GC gas fuel and has a similar but different model.

The third-generation Elantra launched the 2.0-liter Beta II family unit in 2000, and by 2003, this engine had already been upgraded with an intake camshaft dephase.

The engine features a cast-iron cylinder block, an aluminium 16-valve cylinder head without hydraulic lifters, and a combined timing drive where the crankshaft rotates the exhaust camshaft via a belt and the intake camshaft is connected to the crankshaft via a chain, all of which are standard features in the Beta series.

Hyundai KIA G4GC 2.0L Engine Problems & Reliability

When compared to older Hyundai motors, the G4GC emits more noise. There are a variety of vibrations and noises coming from the engine, much like those of diesel engines.

That’s what sets it apart from the competition.

The engine trembles at low speeds and kicks when you accelerate or a brake. Replacing the ignition coils, spark plugs, and wires should rectify the issue.

Uneven RPMs. That’s an electrical problem, and reloading the ECU should eliminate the signs.

The G4GC has lasted for an impressively long time. For a four-cylinder gasoline engine, this is quite respectable at roughly 180,000 miles (300,000 kilometres).
