4 Best Electric Riding Lawn Mowers 2024 Ranking

Finding the top electric riding mower was relatively easy to accomplish. We’ve used a few of them ourselves. Utilized personally, and frankly, the market is small. The companies who have released these are placing a massive bet on the future. They’ll prove right.

[4] Ryobi 100 AH Electric Riding Mower

Ryobi turns it up a notch with its 100 AH Electric Riding Mower. This low-maintenance lawn mower has no filters, belts or spark plugs. It can run up to 2 1/2 hours per charge (around 2 1/2 acres). It has a sleek black and yellow design and a comfy, well-adjusted seat.

This one made our list of the best Ryobi mowers, coming in at #7 and being the only riding mower.

If you’re looking to mow at 7 am without waking your children, the Ryobi mower can do the job with its quiet cutting capabilities and cruise control.

The mower has three cutting options: bags, sides discharge and mulching. The mower comes with a 3-year warranty. If you encounter any issues, bringing the machine to any of the 300 or more service centers nationwide is possible.

It is undoubtedly the lightest mower on the list. It can boast a 38-inch cutting deck but offers a remarkable run-time. It is also the cheapest and one of the most powerful electric riding mowers available.

Ryobi 100 AH Electric Riding Mower

Features:

  • Quiet cutting keeps you from waking up your neighbors (this is a negative if you don’t like them)
  • 12-position manual deck adjustment – I wish this were electric but still nice
  • Get the job done quickly with a maximum speed of 7 MPH
  • It comes with a three-year limited warranty for extra protection
  • Get up to 2 ½ hours (2 ½ acres) per charge despite having a smaller cutting deck

This one is an excellent value if you are more price sensitive. It isn’t quite as comfortable as the others, but it will get the job done. This one is available for just over $3,000, a crazy good value.

[3] Cub Cadet XT1 LT42E Electric Riding Lawn Mower

You might have seen the LT42E pictured at Home Depot next to its gas equivalent, which is the Cub Cadet XT1 LT42. The Cub Cadet XT1LT42E may not be the most cutting-edge motor.

However, it offers the most value for money. The all-electric mower can cut up to two areas (roughly one and a half hours) with one charge.

It’s also not affected when the battery’s power drops, meaning you don’t need to mow grass areas. The majority of lithium Ion batteries function in this way.

Charging the battery can take about four hours, so it’s not as quick as Greenworks crossovers. Greenworks CrossoverT, but still adequate. When it’s time to recharge the battery, you’ll need to utilize the standard 110-volt outlet.

The mower has two motors with brushless technology that power the mower’s direct drive made of steel and cutting deck with twin blades. Since the mower is entirely electrical, you’ll never have to switch gears.

Just press a button and wait for it to go rumbling. Thanks to the premium adjustable cut-and-sew seat, you’ll also have a relaxing ride.

This mower is a different item than the most affordable item available, and you’ll be happy to know that you have a limited residential warranty of three years and a battery’s warranty is limited to four years.

Cub Cadet XT1 LT42E Electric Riding Lawn Mower

Features:

  • Mow up to two acres without recharging the 3000Wh lithium-ion battery
  • Features four-gauge wheels for anti-scalping and a 1” – 4” cutting range
  • The forward speed of 5.5 MPH and reverse speed of 3 MPH
  • It comes with a three-year limited residential warranty and a four-year warranty on the battery
  • It comes with a (somewhat) fast charger that only takes four hours to recharge the battery

This mower is great for a mid-size homeowner’s lawn. I wouldn’t let it do anything heavy-duty, but it is well-constructed. One downside of this mower is that Cub Cadet doesn’t have many battery-powered items so you won’t gain any economies of scale with this battery.

[2] EGO Power+ Electric Zero-Turn Lawn Mower

It is powered by all-electric technology, equivalent to an engine with 22 horsepower (like the one on the Toro zero-turn lawn mower). This EGO Power and Zero Turn Lawn Mower never fails to deliver.

Compared to other electric mowers available, the EGO product is unique because it houses six batteries – the four included. Additionally, it has fancy features such as premium LED lighting, a USB charging port, and Bluetooth technology. It’s not bad at all.

It can still deliver a significant cutting width that can reach 42 inches (about double the size of a drive mower). It’s on the lower side of zero-turn mowers and is about average for regular riding mowers.

With a hydraulic seat that can be adjusted (WITH ARMRESTS! ), It allows you to be sure that you’ll remain comfortable as you go up to 7 mph (or 8 MPH when in traveling mode).

This EGO zero-turn mower can cover two acres of land on one charge, and charging is only a matter of hours. Its premium features and the three driving modes (Control Standard, Control and Sport) Some might consider this model an electric Bugatti, and it’s not wrong to do so.

EGO Power+ Electric Zero-Turn Lawn Mower

Features:

  • Supports as many as six batteries, allowing for a longer duration of run time
  • It is the power of an electric version of a gas-powered engine that has 22 HP
  • You can cut the lawn up to 2 acres with any recharge
  • It is available with three driving modes to choose from that are Standard, Sport and Control.
  • It has a premium LED interface that allows you to have total control over the mower
  • It comes with a separate charger cord that allows you to charge all of the batteries simultaneously
  • You can take an empty battery and go straight to the EGO blower, or EGO Weed eater

They’re insane. However, they come with an expense. If you’re committed to electronic riding mowers, you must present it when you cash out at the register. You can buy this model at Lowe’s (we do not have any affiliation with them) for $5500. This is on the upper end of a zero-turner, particularly one with limited run-time. However, it’s still an excellent choice for homeowners with less than two acres.

[1] Greenworks CrossoverT Electric Riding Lawn Mower

Greenworks calls itself the “final development in lawnmowers.” If you look at the specifications and characteristics of this CrossoverT Riding Lawn Mower, you’ll understand why.

One of my favorite things about this lawnmower is that it can cut as much as 2.5 acres on one charge and takes only around 90 minutes to recharge fully.

It’s not just that; the electric mower has the following: six 8.0 Ah batteries as well as three turbochargers that have dual ports. You can also use the same batteries with every one of your Greenworks 60V models.

In addition to its fast recharge and its quick recharge time, the CrossoverT is incredibly comfortable with its padded seats, folding armrests, and sophisticated back support. Furthermore, you’ll not be wasting energy because of advanced microchips that check grass quality in real-time. The mower comes with a high-torque rear-wheel drive that allows you to climb steep 15-degree slopes – higher than my car.

I also like that it has an integrated theft prevention system – the ideal investment protection method. For the cherry on the cake, this CrossoverT does not require maintenance other than charging the battery and making sharpening blades when necessary.

Greenworks CrossoverT Electric Riding Lawn Mower

Features:

  • Runs for up to 60 minutes with the included 8.0Ah batteries
  • 90 min charge time.
  • Features a high-padded seat and armrests
  • Cut like a professional with SmartCut Technology that auto-adjusts and senses grass thickness
  • Designed with an integrated cargo bed that can hold up to 200 lbs. of yard supplies, like big bags of mulch

The people at Greenworks have dominated by using the riding lawn mower. While it’s not a zero-turn but it’s an excellent low-cost electric lawn mower that hits. They sell these at Tractor Supply Co for $4,500 MSRP.
