Originally released in 1997, the Toyota NZ family is a line of gasoline engines with a very modest displacement.

The XW10 Prius utilizes the 1NZ-FXE, a 1.5-litre four-cylinder gasoline engine, whereas the 1NZ-FE is a standard Otto cycle variant of this engine.
