  1. I’m seeing very few reviews on the Husqvarna TS 148X riding mower. Wondering if it is a new model. I had an 09 YTH 46 inch deck Husq 20 HP Koehler model. Think I spelled that right. It ran pretty good for 11 years. The recent models of that series get lots of bad reviews on the lower site. I’m hoping I can get my YTH fixed. I had the blades down and hit the concrete. $500 will be my limit on repairs.

    I bought the 2010 YTH B&G engine, 48 inch deck Husq used for $400 two years ago. It served me well. The engine went out on that one this year. My fault. First I put in too much oil and had the thing smoking. Then after it kept smoking. I drained out too much oil and killed the engine.

    Will keep both mowers to see what parts I can salvage. The Husq 24 HP, 48 inch get lots of bad reviews on the Lower too.. I think it’s these later models.

    I won’t get into a novel here. Since 2000 I’ve screwed up 4 mowers. Could slap myself. And they ain’t getting any cheaper either. Think I’ll give the Husq TS 148X a chance. I think it may be the Husq mower under $3k. I’m beginning to think you’ll have to spend 2K plus to get a decent, lasting riding mower these days.

    • My used 2010 Husq mower had a 24 HP engine with a 48 inch deck. I meant to say that out of the Lowe’s lineup under $3K. I think the TS 148X may be the best in the bunch. I like the electric PTO better than the manual versions. I broke a cable using those.
