GM stops selling Chevy Blazer EV after ‘software quality issues’
A major automaker, GM, has stopped selling its brand-new Chevy Blazer EV vehicle following reports of software problems and is currently working on releasing an update.
The world’s largest automobile maker, GM, has stopped sales of its latest Chevy Blazer electric vehicle due to reports of software problems and is currently working on releasing the fix. The company added, “It is aware that some Blazer EV users have had certain issues with software quality.”
“To ensure that our customers get an enjoyable experience in their automobile, we’re temporarily suspending sales of Blazer electric vehicles.
Our team is working fast to roll out the fix; the owners of these vehicles will then be contacted for more details on how they can plan their upgrade. We apologize for any delay,” the company said in an announcement.
GM hasn’t confirmed the number of vehicles affected. However, they did say that it’s a “limited” quantity.
Edmunds bought a 2024 Chevrolet Blazer EV RS AWD for its long-term test fleet. However, the vehicle has been in the dealer for several weeks.
There were 23 codes for faults in testing for diagnostics; the technicians said, “What,t we received from the car dealer was very alarming, the most comprehensive list of major flaws that we here on Edmunds have ever encountered on a brand new vehicle.”
“With only 1,600 miles remaining on the odometer for our long-term Blazer EV, it was at the dealership for over two weeks,” they added.
InsideEVs reported that their week-long test had ended in just 28 hours.
