Does Instacart Take EBT In 2024?

Yes, Instacart does take EBT. The famous grocery delivery service has been instrumental in making online grocery shopping available to SNAP (Supplemental Nutrition Assistance Program) beneficiaries, partnering with some smaller retailers nationwide. (Food delivery services such as Postmates, GrubHub, DoorDash, and UberEats typically do not accept EBT as a payment choice.)

Instacart started introducing payment choices for SNAP EBT beneficiaries late last year, and the list of stores covered has been rising steadily. Participating retailers now include Food Lion, Publix, Stop & Shop, Aldi, and multiple smaller chains. In addition, Instacart has committed to expanding the EBT online payment choice to more states and vendors in the future.

When ordering with EBT on Instacart, consumers must use a debit or credit card for non-eligible prices, including delivery and service fees, tips, taxes, and bottle deposit costs in some states.

In addition, consumers over 60 who may be new to online grocery shopping can take advantage of Instacart’s Senior Support Service, which gives help with everything from setting up an account to putting an order.

Use EBT SNAP to purchase groceries at participating stores on Instacart and ignore the delivery or pickup fee. Valid through 31 march on eligible orders of $35 or more. Terms apply.
